The NOTA Effector Plugin is composed of 10 Panels here shortly described and explained in detail in NOTA Effector Tabs.
This panel is focused to manage the objects in terms of position/scale/rotation in order to transform and move them (defining speed and step) and also allows to add others effects described in detail in NOTA Effector Tabs.
ALIGN PANEL – Just in Full Version
This panel allows to line-up the objects on a specific trajectory and it defines how much constraints the objects to a route on the Z direction.
OFFSETS PANEL – Just in Full Version
This panel has 3 curves and relative factors. Each curve is the offset for position x, y and z added at the end of all transformation so you can add translation to make curved trajectories instead a linear translation.
RANDOM PANEL – Just in Full Version
This panel allows to add a random effect on the Position/Rotation/Scale of the objects and defines the time of the duration of this random effect.
SPLINE PANEL – Just in Full Version
In this panel is possible to define a curved trajectory for the objects simply positioning a spline on the animation. A spline can be used to place all entities over it, or mix the spline positions with the current interpolated position.
OSCILLATOR PANEL – Just in Full Version
Is used to give to all objects a proper oscillation.
SORT PANEL – Just in Full Version
It determines a new order for objects evaluated by distance from a reference object. With a curve you can reverse this order or make a new customized order. Random Order make the order completely Random (with a Seed taken from RANDOM TAB).
KERNING PANEL – Just in Full Version
Kerning XYZ is the amount of kerning space added to any axis. Reference Object (null) is the reference for kerning. For example, if you put it on the left of a text, kerning will expand from left ro right by a desired amount.
MOGRAPH COLORS PANEL – Just in Full Version
In this Panel is possible to change the internal MoGraph Colors for all entities managed by MoGraph. It is connected with the MoGraph Colors Shader.
OPTIONS PANEL – Just in Full Version
Here you can activate the showing of labels that indicate the objects in the animation. You can set also the size of those marks.

First line contains some useful info to know like how many time requires and when will be stopped all entities (Total Frames Animation, Total Frames With Offset, Total Elements).
Position/scale/rotation of this object are used to start all entities. This is a user-defined place where all entities will start the route. Usually it is a null object. It can be created easier clicking on “Add Null Object” button.
ADD NULL OBJECT
This adds a null object as reference for nota. Will be created inside the NOTA Effector.
USE AS REPELLER
In this case the Start Reference repels the entities instead to grouping them on it.
It’s similar to the effect of an explosion. It’s a way to put all clones everywhere in the space instead in a single point.
It is active just when “use as repeller” is on. It represents the distance where the entities must be moved from the default position.
It is the time of route of every entity will be done in this time or rather it is the duration in frames of single object (a negative value can rewind).
STEP is the shift in terms of frames between each object of the animation.
Every entity will start a route during a time equal to “DURATION”, every “STEP” frames. For example to move all entities from the user position to the goal position in the same time you can set STEP to zero. Increasing the STEP it will step them longer and then the entire animation time will be longer.
OFFSET This field indicates the frame in which will be started the animation. This implies the animation will stop until the current frame will be equal to offset.
POS TIME is a curve that controls time position for all objects (Duration Time dependent).
ROT TIME … like position but for rotation.
SCALE is a curve that controls scaling of objects from MIN to MAX. With scale you can change all objects scaling to fit your need. Just put 1 point.
This option will loop the entire animation. Every clone that reach the goal position, in the next frame will be moved at start.
This enables the reverse of entire animation after a certain time established in the field “FRAME PAUSE”. If Nota is managing 100 clones from a MoGraph Cloner, with duration 25 and step 1, the Animation will end at the frame 25 + 100 x 1 = 125.
It is usable just if “pingpong” option is set. It represents the pause time from the forward to the reverse animation. In the previous example with a “FRAME PAUSE” of 25 the reverse of animation will start at 150 and will go for 125 frames more, until it returns on starting point.
POSITION-ROTATION LOCK GROUP
Here is possible to lock rotation/position choosing the axis that should be blocked. They are useful to lock position and rotation of objects or the start reference position and rotation.
POS TIME – SPLINE
This spline defines the interpolation of the normal linear time. The X axis of the spline represent the duration time. This curve is useful, for example, to slowdown the speed of the entities before the end (in the default condition). Can also be used to reverse the animation.
ROT TIME – SPLINE
Same as the “POS TIME – SPLINE” but for the rotation.
SCALE TIME – SPLINE
Same as the “POS TIME – SPLINE” but for the scale. Perfect to scale all entities to 0 at the start of animation or make anything you need in the scale. This spline represent on the X axis the “DURATION” time and the Y axis represent the scale multiplier. Default is “MAX SCALE” set to 1 and “MIN SCALE” set to 0.

ALIGN TO PATH
This option aligns the clone on the current trajectory. It’s aligned on the Z direction.
This curve defines over the duration of animation the constraint to the spline position. If all value are set to 1 it means that all entities are placed on the spline. Y Spline value to zero means that the position is the classic NOTA calculated without the spline.
OFFSETS TAB – Just in full version
There are 3 curves that define the X, Y, Z offset to add to all clone at the certain point of his duration. Useful to modify the route easily without using Splines. Each curve is the offset for position x, y and z added at the end of all transformation so you can add translation to make curved trajectories instead a linear translation.
Each curve have a range from -1 to 1 and this is multiplied for a X, Y, Z Factors.
RANDOM TAB – Just in full version
Every Spline here will affect the position/rotation/scale of each entity. The X axis, as usual, represents the duration time. The Y coordinate set to zero means that it’s no affected by random modifier. This means that, for example, you can start with a random state of the object to terminate to its original state. Just make a ramp from 0 to 1.
The random generator must be initialized by assigning an appropriate value to a numeric parameter is called the seed. Each time you use the same seed, you will always get the exact same sequence.
It adds to a Main Duration a random value, that is it adds a random noise to the duration, the stronger the higher the percentage allocated.
SPLINE TAB – Just in full version
A spline can be used to place all entities over it during the route, or mix the spline positions with the current interpolated position.
Put a spline in “Spline Object” and the animation of all objects will be placed on spline rather than from Start Reference to Keyframed position. All parameters showed before will be valid in this case. With LOOP ( shown in Effector tab) you can make infinite movement of objects because they just disappear at the end of path to appear at start.
The interpolation between the spline points and the current interpolated position is done with the Spline Constraint curve. Curve at Y=1 means full spline constraint.
Spline Constraint is the position for all objects on a spline referred to Random, oscillator and offset parameters. It means that object will run on spline without influence of random and others parameters.
OSCILLATOR TAB – Just in full version
Default value for a curve are a sinusoid curve that go from -1 to 1. If you want make oscillations for all objects on Y from +100 to -100 just put 100 on Position Y then all objects will oscillate in a range of desired value in one second.
HPB ROTATION/SEC INCREMENT
This is the phase shift in percentage for every Axes. To make circular loop of all objects. It is a phase for wave so you can make a little circular path for each object.
Maximum and Minimum Offset for every axis. (Depend from waves)
All these modify to the clone state are done every frame.
This is the “signal generator” for the X position of entities. Default is a Sinus curve.
Same as the WAVE X for the Y position.
Same as the WAVE X for the Z position.
Every WAVE curve is expressed in seconds. Changing this multiplier change the frequency of the current oscillation.
SORT TAB – Just in full version
Reference for sorting is an object that determine a new order for objects evaluated by distance from each object. With a curve you can reverse order or make a particular order.
REFERENCE FOR SORTING
The reference object fixes the position for sorting all entities in NOTA. This will changes the order of all clones.
ADD NULL OBJECT
This adds a null object as reference for the sorting. Will be created inside the NOTA Effector.
This curve allows to change order of all objects. Default curve is a linear transition from 0 to 1, no changes as the number of the current MoGraph Entity. Inverting the curve it will cause a reverse order of all clones. This curve always influences all even if the sorting reference is not assigned.
It make the order completely Random (with a Seed taken from RANDOM TAB) for all Entities.
KERNING TAB – Just in full version
Define the direction of kerning.
A reference object position can be used to define from where the entities must be kerned. Example: put it at left of a text and the kerning will expand from left ro right by a desired amount.
ADD NULL OBJECT
This adds a null object as reference for the kerning. Will be created inside the NOTA Effector.
This curve will remap the time of this effect as all others curvers in NOTA.
MOGRAPH COLORS – Just in full version
This Tab allows to change the internal MoGraph Colors for all entities managed by MoGraph. This tab is connected with the MoGraph Color Shader. If you use MoGraph Colors on NOTA it will replace the internals MoGraph Colors. This enables the use of the MoGraph Color Shader.
This Gradient is the color of the MoGraph Color Shader in the Nota animation.
So the shader will generate a color for every clone related to the current time.
This curve remaps the above gradient. Flipping the curve, it will revert the Gradient. On the Cinema 4D side you need to add a MoGraph Color Shader where you need.
OPTIONS – Just in full version
SHOW REFERENCES LABELS
This flag will enable the labels on the viewport and it will help to find where are the current reference object connected to this nota. The name of null object will be renamed to match the use and what is the NOTA Effector connected.
SIZE OF MARKS
It’s the size of all marks for this NOTA Effector. You can set the size of those marks.
